LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- New and used linens are being sought by the Animal Foundation to help keep pets in its care healthy, warm and happy as temperatures drop this weekend.

"With the recent drop in temperatures, we're working hard to keep our shelter pets warm, comfortable and healthy," said Megan Scheibe, marketing and public relations manager for the Animal Foundation. "We rely on donations of linens, like blankets, sheets and towels."

Scheibe said today that all of the shelter's linens are in use as of today and the shelves are empty.

"With this cold front lasting through Monday, we want to make sure we have enough linens for all of our animals," Scheibe said.

The foundation accepts new and gently used linens including towels and bath mats, blankets, sheets, pillow cases, t-shirts and sweat shirts. It will also accept donations of materials with stuffing, including comforters. Items with stuffing can only be used with one pet before they must be discarded to keep the pets healthy. Items that are torn or ripped may not be usable.

Donations may be dropped off daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Animal Foundation's campus, 655 N. Mojave Road in Las Vegas.

There are dozens of programs for children in this city, I know, I pay taxes for them. You honestly don't think animals need some love and care too? Wow, no wonder this city is dying. It's attitudes like yours Mike that no longer make this city a great place to live. I'll be dropping off unused items to them today. Ya know, a dog or cat can't go out and lobby for "pet programs", can't phone a congressman to state a grievance...that is what people with heart are for....sad indeed. Oh, by the way, what have YOU donated to children in the recent past.....???

It seems infuriating to read this story after recent information involving social services relating to welfare negligence of Nevada children. How many children need attention?
