LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Metro police are seeking a Hispanic male in his 20s in a fatal stabbing Saturday night of a sleeping homeless man.
Metro said officers responded shortly before 11 p.m. to the 100 block of West Owens to reports of a person having been stabbed. Officers discovered a male had been transported to UMC with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The preliminary investigation indicated the victim was a homeless man who was sleeping between two buildings. A passerby indicated the suspect was seen stabbing the victim and ran when confronted.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 20 and 25, standing about 5-foot-2 and weighing about 150 pounds. He was reported to be clean shaven and was seen wearing a dark blue sweatsuit, a blue cap and white tennis shoes. The suspect left the scene on a silver BMX-style bicycle.
The identity of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner's office.
