Black Friday opens to shoppers seeking bargains

Black Friday officially kicked off the holiday shopping season this morning, but many shoppers were already bargain hunting before Thanksgiving dinner had a chance to settle. News 3's Mackenzie Warren is in the middle of the retail rush at town square.

LAS VEGAS -- Many shoppers got their holiday deals started last night, but we have one of our own who's opening a store for Black Friday shoppers.

Black Friday has been a tradition for decades, where people head out to score some big bargains.

But shopping day has come earlier in recent years, with many stores opening on Thanksgiving in what's called Black Thursday.

Most restaurants at town square on Las Vegas Boulevard and Sunset were open Thursday, along with the rave movie theater and a few stores such as H&M and old navy. with pre-Black Friday deals.
