Body discovered on Lake Mead Arizona shoreline

BOULDER CITY (KSNV MyNews3) -- Lake Mead authorities are investigating a male body that washed up on the Lake Mead Arizona shoreline north of Castle Cove across from Sentinel Island Thursday afternoon.

National Park Service Rangers arrived on scene by boat and confirmed the reports at 1:49 p.m.

Rangers are standing by while the park pilot flies over for aerial photos. Upon completion, the body will be transported to the Mohave County Coroner Investigator.

The incident is under investigation, and the identity of the victim is still being confirmed and will not be released until relatives have been notified.

A shooting victim has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as 17-year old Jose Hernandez Pena.
