LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- The two local boys accused of drowning newborn kittens are due back in court today and could learn their sentence.

A judge wants a complete evaluation of the 16-year-old boys before he decides the next move.

Both boys are charged with felony animal cruelty after a neighbor took a picture of them drowning the kittens in a cup of water.

The judge has already ruled that the boys will stay in custody until at least today's hearing if not longer.
