I want to play the advocate here and say that our local government is a bunch of "Prudes". Across the world government officials threaten on another each day and get into fist fights on the assembly floor. We elect these individuals and I find it disturbing that the assembly even has the right to ban ANY representative. Our own US Congress is packed with eccentric representatives. I am more concerned about corrupt representative rather than someone voicing threats over an issue. Perhaps he was over zealous, but he fought for those that he represents. It's that kind of voice is what the people need...not politics...but someone that fights tooth and nail for the people. So no the assembly has the power to ban a rep at any time they want. That is really convenient if their is a bill that the opposition wants to pass and can do it if they just ban those reps that are against it. That smells like corruption in its fullest form. That power should be the only thing banned in the Assembly.
