After 1 inning: Chicago came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the first with Trey Hondras hitting a two-run homer for the big hit.
Top of the first update: Drew Laspaluto delivers a bases-loaded double to give Ridge a 3-0 lead after the top of the first. Three singles loaded the bases but two quick outs made it look like Chicago might escape damage. But Drew took care of that for Ridge.
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Mountain Ridge is set to take on Chicago this afternoon for the U.S. championship of the Little League World Series.
Mountain Ridge is undefeated in the tourney and defeated Chicago's Jackie Robinson All-Stars by a 13-2 margin earlier in the tourney. Chicago came back through the loser's bracket and defeated Philadelphia 6-5 to make the title game.
The winning U.S. team will take on South Korea in Sunday's overall title game at Noon (Las Vegas time). The loser will play Japan in the consolation game at 7 a.m. (Las Vegas time).
