NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) --
With warmer weather comes the use of swimming pools and the potential for water-related accidents.
To make the public aware of the dangers and how to prevent drowning, the Southern Nevada Child Drowning Prevention Coalition
conducted its third annual “April Pools Day” event today at the Silver Mesa Recreation Center.
Speakers provided safety tips during the event, and a demonstration of a simulated near-drowning and rescue also was to be performed.
The event is meant to bring awareness to the community about the dangers of drowning and how it can be prevented.
