LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Clark County just introduced its medical marijuana ordinance and one commissioner says she expects dispensaries will open within the next few months.

However, those shops are on hold in Las Vegas city limits and could stay that way until the fall.

Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani said she expects the first applications to start rolling in very soon and expects dispensaries opening up in the county shortly after that.

A full discussion of the regulations is expected March 19.

That's the same day the city of Las Vegas is expected to act on the issue.

Councilman Bob Coffin says he's expecting the city to end it's moratorium on medical pot that same day.
