Fire Department uses donated, abandoned home for training

LAS VEGAS (KSNV — The Clark County Fire Department set an empty, abandoned house on fire today as part of training exercises.

The house is on South Pearl Street, near Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road. Firefighter suppression crews will rotate on and off-site throughout the day today to participate in the training.

Six or seven live burns will take place at the house over the course of the day, with the last one scheduled to occur around 3 p.m.

The house was donated to the Fire Department by the property owner. The property has been rezoned for commercial use.
