LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- It’s called Molly— a club drug responsible for a dangerous trend and blamed for killing at least three teens around the country - and sending several others to the hospital.
News3’s Venise Toussaint takes a look at Molly's prominence in Las Vegas and talks to one man recovering from his addiction.
The name Molly is short for molecule and it’s a more potent form of the drug ecstasy.
The drug has gained popularity over the past few years, in part due to references of its use in songs and pop culture.
Users say it gives them a feeling of euphoria while leaving them with symptoms like rapid heart rate, severe dehydration and in some cases death.
Just this Sunday two concert goers died and four others hospitalized at the Electronic Zoo Carnival in New York City. In Las Vegas the party drug is just as rampant and easily accessible at concerts and on the streets.
