Noblesville, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay pleaded guilty on Tuesday to a misdemeanor charge of impaired driving and will spend a year on probation.

Irsay had previously pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanors stemming from a traffic stop in March but entered the guilty plea in a hearing Tuesday morning at the Hamilton County courthouse, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Carmel (Indiana) police said Irsay was stopped late on March 16 after driving at a slow rate of speed and failing to signal a turn. He failed several field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Multiple prescription drugs were found in pill bottles during an inventory search of Irsay's vehicle and a toxicology report showed Tuesday that Irsay had two painkillers in his system, according to the Star.

The paper said Irsay's probation includes mandatory drug tests. Irsay will face a felony charge if he is arrested again for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
