LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- It looks we may be closer to implementing a new inquest system for Clark County.
Commissioners publicly discussed two options at their meeting yesterday and now the process moves forward.
It will remain a fact-finding mission to determine what led to a death at the hands of an officer but it will probably be called a public-police review or something like that.
Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani issued one proposal Which is based on recommendations made by an inquest review panel.
It would still call for testimony from the officer involved in the death.
Commissioners Steve Sisolak and Larry Brown however discussed a second proposal yesterday which would only involve the officer investigating the death and the prosecutor who ruled the death legal.
