LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- More testing is planned in the Hot Creek Valley area of central Nevada after oil field test results were less than spectacular.
In a report released Thursday, officials of Ireland-based U.S. Oil and Gas said they drilled 30 zones around the Elbana 1 well, about 80 miles east of Tonopah.
CEO Brian McDonnell's report to securities regulators said that 26 of the 30 areas drilled are not expected to produce oil. Two zones produced oil and water, and two zones did produce a measurable flow of oil.
McDonnell said the company plans to do more drilling and a more detailed analysis of the results possibly starting later this month.
The company was created more than three years ago to specifically search for oil in Nevada using new sound-listening technology.
