Coroner identifies Las Vegas man killed on I-15 earlier in week

LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- The Las Vegas man killed early Wednesday morning when he tried to cross Interstate 15 near Moapa has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.

Roger Blaine Boyd, 45, died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained from being struck by a motor vehicle. The death was ruled an accident.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremie Elliott, Boyd's vehicle broke down about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday while southbound on I-15 near mile marker 74 between U.S. 93 and Valley of Fire Highway.

For reasons unknown, Boyd walked into the northbound lanes and was struck by a red Nissan pickup.

The driver of the pickup stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
