LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- The man killed in Wednesday's moped accident in Boulder City has been identified by the Clark County coroner.
Boulder City resident James Kitchell, 84, was killed just after 2 p.m. His cause and manner of death will be made after the autopsy is completed, the coroner said.
Police are trying to figure out if the moped crash was an accident or a hit-and-run.
Officers found Kitchell lying injured in the street in front of the Boulder City library, southwest of downtown. The other vehicle in the crash, which witnesses said was red, had left the scene.
Police said Wednesday night that the red vehicle may not have hit the moped and that the scooter may have swerved toward it and gone down by itself.
Henderson police helped in the investigation. Investigators do not think speed was a factor.
