LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A 55-year-old Las Vegas man who died in a motorcycle accident early Friday morning has been identified, and a 28-year-old Las Vegas woman who was found dead in an apartment has been named.
Clark County Coroner Michael Murphy said the motorcyclist was Samuel Franklin Carnie. The 55-year-old died about 3 a.m. when his Harley Davidson motorcycle hit the rear end of a 1987 Toyota cargo van that was stopped on North Nellis Boulevard where it intersects East Owens Avenue in northeast Las Vegas. Metro officials said the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it apparently did not brake before hitting the van. Carnie likely died immediately. The autopsy was being conducted this morning and the exact cause of death will be determined.
In the other incident, Metro was called shortly before 6:15 a.m. to an apartment in the 100 block of South Bruce Street for a report of a deceased person. The coroner today identified the woman as Nicole Marie Ringi-Anson, 28, of Las Vegas. Murphy said the cause of death will be determined after toxicology tests are complete. Her body was found in a bedroom at the Oak Tree Apartments.
