I got completely swindeled by Griffin and their company Griffin Events Inc. just filed a NEvada bankruptcy last week! They took my $10,000 wedding deposit and now refuse to give it back. I called a law firm (Kupperlin Law 702-614-0600) and they are taking calls from out of state creditors who have been swindled by Griffin too. I am definitely willing to be part of a out of state committee that formed in order to try to get my deposit back.

This letter is the letter sent to Griffin Mansion by me after flying from NYC to Las Vegas, NV w/ 2 children, my husband and in laws for a food tasting that never took place at Griffin because, they cancelled at the food tasting 15 min prior to food tasting. Good day, I am writing because I have made extensive work arrangement for my 2 employers, along with my groom's employer to attend my 5\13\12 food tasting, both the groom and I used accrued time, along with school arrangement and cancellation for my TWO special needs child who receives serves\therapies , round trip airline/airfare and carfare arrangements from NYC to Las Vegas, hotel arrangement for 5 adults and a toddler. I am devastated that half an hour prior to attending my prearranged tasting we were informed by Griffin Mansion that our tasting would not occur today because the Chef fell sick at work and was not able to fur fill the cooking for the tasting. I understand that people get sick but being notified just minutes before arriving at Griffin is so heart wrenching. I am so at a lost for words and totally unsure of how my wedding day will be. I moved the closing of my house to attend my food tasting, I forsake meeting with my mother, grandmother, aunts, sister on Mother's day 5\13\12 because of my impending tasting. And having my children see me cry uncontrollably on a day that we plan to have tons of fun tasting and viewing our venue and enjoying mother’s day is price-less and not a memory any person would want to have as memories leading up to their Wedding day. I am so thankful I saw this story. My niece from Canada came down on June 6 and we went out to the "mansion" to finalize details for her October wedding. It was kind of an odd experience at the place since it was so empty, but having nothing to compare it to, I didn't think much about it. Again, thankfully, I saw this story. How would anyone outside Las Vegas know this was happening? She is probably out $3,500, and was scheduled to make another payment of $7,000 this month. I can't believe our County has allowed this place to even remain in business without proper licensing and permits for the past 5 years. This is a shameful statement about Clark County management,especially since they charged this charlatan a year ago. Thanks again for the good reporting. While my niece has to make other plans, she has the time and it will all be good. What about the others who have no idea this has happened? SAD!

Do any brides out there have a good lawyer they are using to try to get their money back from Griffin Mansions? I have a wedding planned for November and this is completely unacceptable. I know there are a lot of brides in an even tighter position than I am in though. The planner we were working with - Anna Avery no longer and I would really like some questions answered. They are not returning any phone calls or emails - extremely unprofessional.

My husband and I were married at the Mansion last year. I feel horribly for all the couples they did this too but I am not surprised this is happening. They were unprofessional with us through the entire process and I never felt comfortable with them after our initial payment. They were so personable and easy to get a hold of upfront. Then we started giving them money and it was like no one worked there. They were always disorganized and it took them sometimes months to return phone calls or emails. In fact, the wedding coordinator that was assigned to us, spoke to us only once before our wedding day. There were many times I felt like I was in a nightmare planning “my dream” wedding with them. I wanted to change our venue but we would have been out the money we had already given them with no refund so we felt stuck. We paid several thousands of dollars for upgrades and on the day of the wedding most weren’t upgraded. What were we to do? We were stuck. I wasn’t going to let it ruin my day but for months afterward I was furious and upset. This was a day that we can’t “redo”. Many of our wedding pictures are on the site and it upsets me because they are portraying their venue as the most wonderful place to get married and that is just false. My heart goes out to all the couples they did this too. Shame on you Griffin Mansions!

I have paid over $13,000 into my upcoming November wedding with the mansion. I had a tasting scheduled for the 1st & the day before they e-mailed me (didnt even have the decency to give me a call) to cancel when just the day before that they called & e-mailed me to confirm. They did tell me that they were doing construction, but in no way would that effect my wedding date & I have multiple e-mails going back & forth of their construction plans. I don't know what to do..

Vegas always has been and always will be a city that caters to ripping off tourists. Nothing will be done because it brings in revenue!

Brides should always pay by credit card, that should protect your deposit, as you can do a charge back with the credit card company. A couple of reasonable places to try to (re) book your wedding: The 5th Street School The Alumni Association Building at UNLV Most golf courses There is an awesome room up at the Center at Sun City Anthem, not sure if they still rent it out, but it is beautiful
