LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A pickup driver smashed into a power pole this morning, knocking out power for about 1,200 NV Energy customers.

The crash near Sahara and Eastern avenues happened about 5:30 a.m.

Nearby Knudsen Middle School was in the dark for a time, so some students were dropped off at nearby Valley High School.
