LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie confirms to News 3 that he was interviewed by the FBI two weeks ago about the showdown on April 12 between the Bureau of Land Management and the Cliven Bundy Camp.
That showdown and the events leading up to it led Bundy's son and supporters to file a criminal complaint against the BLM with the Clark County Sheriff's Department.
Armed militia from across the country have gathered in Bunkerville since the BLM roundup last month.
There have been reports that militia are stopping drivers along the Interstate 15 and demanding to see proof of identification.
This has prompted local lawmakers, most prominently Representative Steven Horsford, to ask the sheriff's office and federal government for assistance in clearing out the camp.
The confrontation stems from Bundy’s refusal to pay federal grazing fees and the BLM’s attempt to take Bundy's cattle.
