LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Friends and family are saying goodbye to Stanley Gibson, the disabled veteran killed by metro police.

Gibson, who served in the Gulf War, is being buried Friday at the Veterans’ Cemetary in Boulder City. His family held a visitation at a funeral home Thursday.

Amateur video shows the December 11 shooting at the Alondra condominiums. Officers considered Gibson a possible burglary suspect, and say he did not respond to commands to get out of his car.

Sources tell news three that police supervisors on the scene failed to communicate with another officer, who mistakenly opened fire.

There is so much wrong with this incident - where does one begin? My heart goes out to Stanley's family - especially as they mourn their loss over the holiday season. Metro totalitarianism MUST END! Gillespie MUST step down. His obedient dogs have turned against the very citizens they are supposed to serve. Our Sheriff has no fear of the feds, as he is in their Good Ol' Boys CLUB! Jailed for a mental breakdown? Our "system" is not only flawed, but highly IMMORAL. But I do NOT see this as a "race" issue. This is a SLAVE issue. We are ALL slaves to Metro's "orders." How many times has Gestapo Gillespie and his trained dogs said, "If only so-and-so had just done what we asked." No - they do not ask - they ORDER us. Just like a master orders his slave. As for doctors - that's another master. We MUST obey their commands because the government has decided we the people are not capable of medicating ourselves. If we dare try, we will end up caged. We treat our pets better than our civil servants treat the tax payers they are supposed to serve. It's not Metro's "fault" - oh, no. If only Stanley had done what he was told. Never mind Stanley was suffering. Never mind Stanley was incapable of KNOWING what he was being ordered by the master of the day. And do you know how psych hold patients are treated in Las Vegas? Well let's just say Doctors and nurses have "better" things to do than to deal with "psychos" who they judge are only there to SEEK DRUGS. I could write a book! TLGzz Roar

I am really sorry that he was killed, but I do not blame the police, what would you do if someone was aiming a car at you, would you say "give me some information on this guy" and hope that he would stop the car before it hits you, or would you hope that he had someone that placed in in protective custody and not not the street to do what he did that caused his death, I blame his family for not doing something to help him, before this happened.
