LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- One of two parents indicted earlier this week on charges in the June mobile home fire deaths of three children has been arrested and is in custody at the Clark County Detention Center.

Shane Gouailhardou, 22, was booked into the jail this afternoon. Amy Hatzenpiller, 26, apparently remains free as she does not show up on the CCDC booking website.

The two were indicted Tuesday by a Clark County grand jury for the deaths of David Gouailhardou, 2, Skylar Lafia, 2, and Aryana Lafia, 1.

Gouailhardou's first court date is set for 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

The indictment handed down Tuesday says the parents ingested methamphetamine and that action caused the defendants to refuse care or be too impaired to care for the children. It also stated that the home did not have fire extinguishers or smoke detectors or other fire suppression devices and the home had limited exits and means of escape.

The children perished June 15 in a mobile home at Van's Trailer Oasis, 3610 Las Vegas Blvd., N., near Lamb Boulevard. The parents were sleeping when the fire started about 10:20 a.m.. The parents escaped, but the children died of smoke inhalation. A neighbor tried to break a window in the bedroom to rescue the children, but the intense heat and fire forced him to abandon his efforts.

Metro public information Officer Jose Hernandez said anybody who has information should contact Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Metro.

The Eighth District Court indictment charged the parents with three counts of second-degree murder and three counts of child abuse, neglect or endangerment with substantial bodily harm.

Judge Linda Marie Bell set their bail at $100,000 on each charge.
