LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – The westbound lanes of Flamingo Road between Las Vegas Boulevard and Koval Lane were closed after a pedestrian was hit this morning.

Eastbound Flamingo opened to traffic around 1:40 p.m.

The accident occurred just before 9:15 a.m. on Flamingo near Linq. Metro Officer Larry Hadfield said the victim, a man in his 50s, was transported to Sunrise Hospital with critical injuries.

According to Metro's report, the pedestrian was walking northbound across Flamingo Road in the crosswalk. A 2005 Ford F650 truck was turning left onto eastbound Flamingo Road on a green signal from Linq Lane.

The 2005 Ford F650, driven by 44-year-old Paul Rosquist of Las Vegas, failed to notice the pedestrian.

The front of the 2005 Ford F650 struck the pedestrian, who has since been identified as 54-year-old Martin Forster from Rochester, UK.

Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and transported Forester to Sunrise Hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.

This incident remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
