LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Friends and family will gather tonight to remember an Arbor View High School student was was murdered on her way home from school two years ago.
On Sept. 02, 2011 at approximately 7 p.m. sophomore and Sky Ridge resident Alyssa Otremba should have passed through the gate at the end of her street on her way home. Instead she was attacked and killed in the desert.
A gathering is planned to start at 6 p.m. today in a park adjacent to the gate she should have passed through at the east end of Satin Carnation Lane. A moment of remembrance, prayer and silence will be held at 7 p.m.

To get there, drive north on Durango Drive, turn left on Oso Blanca, the last light before the I-95. Oso Blanca will bend right and then left so it is parallel to I-95. continue on Oso Blanca approximately one mile past the apartments, past Farm, past Grand Teton to Teepee Lane (there is a U-Haul storage facility on the corner. Turn left on Teepee Lane, it will bend to the left and Sky Ridge is the development on the left side. Go past the first driveway on the left which is Gola Lilly and turn in the second drive way on the left which is Velvet Grass.
The driveway is just a few feet long and if you bear to your right you will be on Satin Carnation Lane. The park and gate are at the far end of Satin Carnation Lane on the left.
