LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- One big challenge facing too many veterans is homelessness.
Data from the Department of Housing and Urban Development estimate about 76,000 vets are on the streets across the country, hundreds here in the valley.
Some local groups are banding together with a program they think can be a model for the rest of the country.
The concept is pretty simple: Turn a hotel into a transitional facility for vets, and provide food and services to help them get on their feet.
