SEDONA, Ariz. (AP) - Teenage brothers from Utah died in one of two small plane crashes in northern Arizona over the weekend.

Mohave County sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter says 19-year-old Daulton Whatcott was flying a single-engine Cessna that crashed just south of Interstate 15 near the Arizona-Utah border on Sunday. He and his 16-year-old brother, Jaxon, of Clinton, died en route to Mesquite, Nevada.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash and a second crash near Sedona that happened just hours earlier.

Authorities recovered the remains of four people Monday from a rugged wilderness. Their identities haven't been released.

The Federal Aviation Administration says it is unsure of the flight plan for the single-engine Cessna that sparked a small fire when it crashed around 3 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters were working to extinguish the 25-acre fire.

The crash also sparked a wildfire.

Hikers reported seeing a plane crash into the side of Mogollon Rim around 3 p.m., according to a spokesman for the FAA, and the United States Forest Service found a single-engine plane around 6:15 p.m., according to a spokesman for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.

The fire, which is being called the Fay Fire, is burning in the Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness area of Fay Canyon.

Two helicopters, two engines, one fuels crew and the Sedona Fire District were on the scene Sunday evening, and one hotshot crew and three helicopters are expected to respond Monday.
