LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A 55-year-old inmate from Clark County has died at High Desert State Prison, apparently of natural causes.
David Parks was pronounced dead at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday.
He was serving 6 to 15 years for two counts for attempted sexual assault of a victim under the age of 16 after being convicted in Clark County.
A news release from the Nevada Department of Corrections said Parks collapsed in the dining room. CPR was performed and Parks was taken to the infirmary where the medical staff provided emergency care until Mercy Air paramedics arrived. The paramedics and Dr. Alex Malone via a phone call pronounced Parks dead.
The Clark County coroner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
