LAS VEGAS -- A man with a gun. A robbery at a sandwich shop. A dispute between neighbors. A report of a 6-year-old boy who never arrived home from school. These are typical calls Metro officers handle on any given day.

Want to follow a Metro officer while he’s on his shift? From 3 to 9 p.m. today, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will host a virtual ride along with Officer Jacinto Rivera of the Northeast Area Command via Twitter, a “Tweet Along.”

A PIO staff member will tweet Officer Rivera’s calls-for-service and answer questions from followers when possible.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department endeavors to increase interaction with our community via all platforms of social media.

Follow @LVMPD via Twitter and experience the calls Officer Rivera handles during his shift.
