LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A few juveniles who fell into a wash in the southwest part of the valley shortly before noon today are safe.

Metro Officer Laura Meltzer told News 3 that one or two juveniles of unknown ages feel into a wash near Hacienda and Buffalo about 11:30 a.m. She said reports indicated there were four juveniles in a group.

"Search and Rescue was called but was cancelled," Meltzer said. "It appears they got themselves out. One was treated by medical on the scene for what appears to be a cut finger."

Meltzer said nobody should be in a wash area.

"This is a timely reminder to stay out of those areas," Meltzer said. "Most washes have fences and some have locks. That means people are to stay out. The sergeant who was there said the water was not very deep, but it was extremely swift."
