LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Metro is seeking three suspects today after an argument led to a fatal stabbing Sunday evening in the northeast part of the valley.

The Clark County coroner's office identified the victim today as 25-year-old Las Vegas resident Nigel Hewitt. He died of multiple stab wounds and sharp force injuries. The death was ruled a homicide.

According to a Metro news release, dispatchers received a 911 call around 6:15 p.m. Sunday about a man stabbed several times in the 2500 block of East Karen Avenue. Arriving patrol officers and medical personnel found a man suffering from multiple apparent stab wounds. The victim was transported to the Sunrise Trauma Center and was later pronounced deceased.

The preliminary investigation indicated three unknown subjects were walking through the area when they became involved in a verbal argument with the victim. The argument escalated into a physical fight between the victim and one of the subjects. The suspect pulled out a knife, chased after the victim, and stabbed him several times. All three subjects fled the area.

The first subject is described as a Hispanic man, 20 to 22 years old, standing 5-foot-9, weighing 140 pounds with a bald head. He was last seen wearing a white torn tank top and blue jeans.

The second subject was described as a Hispanic man, 20 to 22, 5-10 and weighing 210 pounds. He had black spiked hair and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

The third subject is described as a Hispanic woman, 22 to 24, 5-10 and weighing 180 pounds. She had long black hair and a tattoo under her left eye.

The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office. This is the 83rd homicide investigated by Metro this year.
