LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Four people were displaced after a kitchen fire this morning in an apartment complex near Desert Inn and Sandhill roads.
Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded at 9:27 a.m. in the 3300 block of Sylvia Street. Callers reported brown smoke coming from a kitchen in an apartment on the second floor.
The building was evacuated, and fire was located in a ceiling-mounted air conditioning unit. The fire was controlled in less than 10 minutes.
Investigators responded and identified the cause as an electrical fire in the air conditioning unit. Damages were estimated at $10,000.
The American Red Cross is assisting the people displaced by the fire.
