LAS VEGAS -- A Metro officer is accused of using the power of his badge to abuse two women.
According to a police report, Officer John Norman, 33, is accused of forcing a woman to remove her shirt and bra then fondling her breast in what he called a "search."
In a separate incident, another woman says Norman pushed her to pull down her bra and exposed her chest supposedly to prove she wasn't hiding anything.
Metro is seeking misdemeanor lewdness charges, felony charges of coercion and opression under the color of office against Norman.
Metro has been investigating Norman since Dec. 28, 2011, when investigators became aware of criminal allegations made against him.
Investigators from the Internal Affairs Bureau and the Sexual Assault Detail immediately began parallel investigations.
Norman surrendered to investigators at the Clark County Detention Center about 3 p.m. today and was placed under arrest. He has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.
Norman has been with Metro since July 2008. He is assigned to the patrol division in northwest Las Vegas.
