LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- There's a new plan to fight human trafficking and it doesn't target pimps or buyers, but those who transport victims from one place to another.

Las Vegas Assembly John Hambrick has authored a bill draft request to penalize what he calls ‘facilitators.’

For example, a cab or truck driver who knowingly transports a human trafficking victim is a facilitator.

"We've got to start looking at how that facilitator gets that victim from one place to another, and we have to go after them and let it be known, if one arrest, two arrests are made, boy that'll spread like wild fire and they'll be very cautious," Hambrick said.

Bill draft request Number 73 says those drivers could get their licenses suspended after an arrest for a crime related to human trafficking.

Hambrick says his previous legislation against human trafficking has been effective if perpetrators are hit financially.

A spokeswoman for the Taxicab Authority says she's not familiar with the proposal so couldn't comment.

The Nevada Trucking Association says it welcome any move against those involved in the illegal sex trade.

The NTA is part of a nationwide movement called "Truckers against Trafficking," a campaign to educate truckers about this global crime.
