Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Toronto forward Joffrey Lupul will endure yet another surgery, this one on his knee that will cost him the rest of the regular season and at least the first round of the playoffs should the Leafs advance that far.

"He is going to have surgery done on his knee," Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle said. "It's a meniscus procedure and will be done arthroscopically. It will be three weeks to a month recovery."

Lupul had missed seven games with a groin strain, which struck him in the last week of November, in a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The unlucky 30-year-old winger ends the regular season having totaled 22 goals and 22 assists in 69 games.

Toronto, which was in the thick of the playoff race in the first half of the season, stands three points behind Columbus for the final wild-card slot in the East with three games remaining.
