LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A former mixed martial arts fighter pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning to felony allegations that he badly injured his ex-girlfriend and her guest last month before fleeing to California.

Jonathan Koppenhaver’s attorney entered the plea after approaching the judge.

The judge denied bail for Koppenhaver. He will not be getting out of jail anytime soon.

Clark County prosecutors are coming down hard on Koppenhaver. He is facing 32 felony counts in connection with the alleged beating of his ex-girlfriend, Christy Mack, and her guest on Aug. 8, at a home near Eastern Avenue and Desert Inn Road. The district attorney's office added charges of kidnapping, sexual assault, attempted murder and coercion of a witness. The additional charges stem from a year of criminal accusations in the county.

Koppenhaver, known as “War Machine” in his fighting profession, showed no emotion in court.

The judge asked if she could call him by Koppenhaver. He said yes. When asked if that’s his legal name, he said no. He legally changed it to “War Machine.”

Prosecutors say Mack already has had oral surgeries to repair the injuries. She is out of the hospital and is able to walk.
