HENDERSON (KSNV MyNews3) – A man accused of striking and killing a pedestrian on a Henderson sidewalk in May has been charged in his death.

Chester Budd, 79, is facing a charge of driving while under the influence of a controlled substance causing death or bodily harm in the death of Robert Levesque, 71.

The 2008 Jeep Commander driven by Budd struck Levesque at Hampton Road and Point Pleasant Drive, according to an indictment filed by the Clark County District Attorney’s office.

Levesque was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Henderson Police Department report says Budd left the Sun City Anthem Country Club after a tennis match, checked the lanes before entering traffic but did not remember driving on the sidewalk or striking Levesque.

Tests later showed that Budd had taken Ambien.

Very interesting story about a driver being charged for hitting a pedestrian. Too bad the local media does not follow up on off Duty Police who hit and kill a pedestrian. Good chance Police Officer Wavie Reed was under the influence or highly distracted when he hit and killed another Human being. Funny how that case was just swept under the RUG.. SSSSHHH
