Man dies in driveway making repairs to car when jackstand slips

LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A 32-year-old male was killed while repairing a vehicle in the driveway of a single family residence when the jack stand slipped and the car fell on top of him.

The fatal incident took place in the 3700 block of North Walnut Road Tuesday at 11:38 a.m.

The man was was repairing an unoccupied 2000 Saturn sedan in the driveway. Police say the vehicle was supported by a jack stand and the male was positioned underneath the vehicle. The jack stand slipped and the left front rotor fell on his chest.

Other occupants in the residence tried lifting the vehicle off his chest and called 9‐1‐1. The male was transported to UMC Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.

This incident will not be counted as a motor vehicle fatality in Metro's jurisdiction. The case remains under investigation.

If I remember correctly this type of incident happened not long ago and around the same street, what a shame RIP
