Investigators are trying to find out what caused an explosion inside a mobile home this morning. One man was killed in the blast and ensuing fire. News 3's Denise Rosch has been on the scene all day and has more information.
LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – One man is dead this morning after a fire in the 3600 block of Death Valley Drive, southeast of Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard.
Spokesman Dan Kulin says the Clark County Fire Department responded to reports of an explosion at 7:49 a.m. today at the residence.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw the mobile home engulfed in heavy smoke and flames. Bystanders told firefighters that one man was inside the home.
Firefighters found a 60-year-old man deceased inside the home. The man was apparently the only resident of the home.
The fire was knocked down at about 8:05 a.m. No other injuries were reported.
The damage estimate is $15,000.
