LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A Las Vegas man is dead after being ejected in an overnight crash on the east side of the valley. Police are investigating the accident for driving under the influence charges.
The Nevada Highway Patrol reported the two-vehicle accident occurred about 3 a.m. on U.S. 95 South near East Flamingo.
The Clark County coroner has identified the victim as 25-year-old Hexiquio Rios of Las Vegas. The cause and manner of death will be determined after an autopsy.
According to Trooper Loy Hixson the accident happened when a man speeding in his Volkswagen when he rear-ended a woman driving a Honda Civic. Both were headed southbound on the 95. The VW flipped several times and the 25-year-old man died after he was thrown from the car.
The 22-year-old driver of the Civic hit the center median. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is facing DUI charges.
NHP said it is investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.
