(KSNV & MyNew3) -- Thousands of veterans suffer from PTSD and many end up in court.

News 3's Ashley Conroy spoke with Judge Melanie Tobiasson today about what veterans in trouble have to go through.

She said with the right help, Stanley Gibson's fate could have been much different had he been able to take the right steps to get well.

Maybe Las Vegas can take the step that Salt Lake City has done and created a Veteran's court for the first time offenders. The judge is a veteran, and from what I have read, it has been a success.

Some think they are too good to get help, or are afraid of the image they may project if they do seek the help until its too late...
