LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) — A former teacher and coach at Spring Valley Montessori School accused of having child porn at the school and in his house is back in federal custody.

A federal judge initially decided to allow 24-year-old John-Benedict Alcantara to await trial in his mother's home under house arrest. However, in a court order that became public this week, the judge reversed that ruling.

Detectives found hundreds of child pornography images and a blow-up doll dressed as a child in Alcantara's home. Police also found four computers at the school had evidence of child porn.

Alcantara admitted he downloaded child porn on a regular basis and said he did not see a problem with viewing child porn and, in his opinion, it should be legal.

Family members said Alcantara may be autistic and he was recently sent to Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital.

The local court noted serious concerns about his mental state, and officials are deciding if he is competent enough to stand trial.
