RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Michelle Obama has made a special appeal to women and students at a rally at the University of Nevada, Reno, asking them to help get voters to the polls in support of her husband in November.

The first lady told a crowd of more than 3,000 at the quad on the UNR campus Wednesday that this election is sure to be closer than the one President Barack Obama won four years ago.

She said the race is going to come down to a few battleground states such as Nevada, which her husband won by about 121,000 votes last time around.

Michelle Obama said that works out to about 70 votes per precinct, adding that most UNR students have that many friends on their Facebook accounts, meaning they have the power to help deliver the state for her husband.
