SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- The Mountain Ridge All-Stars suffered a 5-0 loss to Japan this morning in the consolation game of the Little League World Series.

Japan cracked two home runs as it took third place in the tournament.

Mountain Ridge, which started the tournament with two 10-run rule victories, never really made a threat in the game.

The team from Las Vegas will return about 8:30 p.m. Monday at McCarran International Airport. The team has been on the road since the start of the regional tourney two weeks ago in San Bernardino, Calif.

A reception and parade for Mountain Ridge players and coaches is planned for Aug. 30. It will start at City Hall with a short presentation at 9 a.m. The team will then be paraded to Town Square for another ceremony planned for 10 a.m.

The public is encouraged to attend.

South Korea defeated Chicago 8-4 Sunday in the overall championship game.

Chicago defeated Mountain Ridge 7-5 in Saturday's U.S. championship game.
