LAS VEGAS -- NV Energy is reporting at 7 p.m. power was been restored to the area near Eastern and Bonanza but power has not been fully restored to the area near Sahara and Highlands.
NV Energy said about 2,000 customers were without power in the area near Eastern and Bonanza and Sahara Highland.
At about 5:30 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. NV Energy lost two major distribution circuits which most likely are related to the rain storms. Crews are on their way to make repairs.
The outage also cause a power outage to a traffic signal and Sahara and I-15.
The area near Sahara and Highland is mostly restored, but lineman are still patrolling and picking up one section at a time.
NV Energys says the cause of the power outages was lightning.
