NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A motorcycle rider was killed this afternoon at Lake Mead Boulevard and Bruce Street.
According to a North Las Vegas Police Department news release, dispatch received calls around 3:45 p.m. of a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck at Lake Mead Boulevard and Bruce Street. Arriving officers located the 20-year-old North Las Vegas motorcyclist unresponsive. A short time later, medical personnel pronounced the man deceased on scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Lake Mead Boulevard when he struck a truck that was turning northbound from eastbound traffic. It appears that speed is a factor in this case.
Witnesses reported the motorcyclist had a red light when he went through the intersection. The 52-year-old Las Vegas male driver of the truck was not injured in the crash and remained on scene. There were no other occupants in the truck or on the motorcycle.
The identity and cause and manner of death of the decedent will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
