Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Denver Nuggets have suspended guard Andre Miller for two games following the veteran's altercation with head coach Brian Shaw during Wednesday's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Miller, upset with being designated as a healthy inactive for the contest, began yelling at Shaw while on the bench during the second half of the Nuggets' eventual 114-102 home setback to the Sixers.

The defeat was the eighth in a row for the struggling Nuggets, who currently own a disappointing 14-17 record in Shaw's first season at the helm.

Miller is averaging 5.9 points and 3.3 assists over 30 games this season, though the 15-year pro has seen his playing time decrease drastically over the past two weeks.

The 37-year-old will sit out Friday's home game against Memphis as well as Sunday's trip to Los Angeles to battle the Lakers. Miller will be eligible to return to the team for Tuesday's matchup with the Boston Celtics at Pepsi Center.
