(NBC News) With just six weeks until the start of sign-up for Obamacare some Republicans want a vote to pull the plug.
Former South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint, now working for the conservative Heritage Foundation,
and Texas Senator Ted Cruz joined forces this week.
They're pushing Congress to cut off funding for the healthcare plan while paying for every other federal programs.
If their plan passes an Obama veto is certain, and he's sure to charge Republicans would shut down government.
Fearful of a voter backlash, Republican leaders are warning Cruz and company to back off.
