LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Traffic stops are a daily, dangerous part of the job.

The Nevada Highway Patrol makes about 78,000 stops in Clark County every year, and the troopers have to be alert on each one.

The NHP has divided the valley into three corridors: U.S. 95, Interstate 15 and the Beltway. No matter where they are patrolling, the most dangerous part of a trooper’s day is the traffic stop.

News 3’s Elizabeth Donatelli presents this report.

"the most dangerous part of a trooper’s day is the traffic stop." ----- And the most dangerous part of a drivers day is the traffic stop, they might just get shot!

Traffic cops job is to issue citations to keep our roadways safe. Its clear that this city needs to be issuing more tickets. There is one thing that most people understand and that's money, and they do not spending on traffic violations. This is why traffic stops are dangerous, remember, they are stopping someone who is breaking the law, if they are breaking the law, they do not care about others or police officers.

Traffic cops in Las Vegas, are the lowest form of life in the world of law enforcment. They, without exception, issue citatations when a warning would serve just as well. They hide, use unmarked vehicles, and in general do their best to extract the maximum dollar fine amount from the citizen. No small wonder that firms like "ticket busters" do such a big business. Indeed, I see dozens of billboard and vehicle wraps for them. Sadly, the traffic stop is the most common form of contact that most citizens will have with law enforcement. Sadly, guilt by association leads to the perception that 99% of law enforcement officers are analogous to a horse's anal opening.
