LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Weeks after a horrific fire that killed three young children in a trailer home, many questions remain unanswered, starting with what caused this tragedy.

The fire was so devastating it burned much of the trailer to the ground, so what little evidence investigators do have is now in the labs. But they say they want answers just like everyone else.

Neighbors in the Van's Trailer Oasis community remain stunned, sifting through charred remnants, searching for answers.

Clark County Fire Department Assistant Chief Sandra Baker says because three young children lost their lives, fire investigators are being incredibly thorough.

Until the results are in, the coroner's office and Metro cannot finish their investigations. They need the Fire Department's report. The coroner's office will not release the children's cause of death until the Fire Department hands over its findings.

Once the Fire Department and coroner draw their conclusions, Metro Abuse and Neglect investigators will determine if charges should be filed against the children's parents.

I still find if hard to believe that the father of the children got out safely and he did not know the where about of the children in the trailer. I wonder if the police did a drug test on the adults in the trailer at the time. That might be a good place to start. Were the parents using drugs at the time of the fire???
