Bicycles travel at speeds less than 15 mph usually. Do you really think that the bicycle laws which require them to travel on the roadway (even where there are no bike lanes)are adequate to cover scooters? All of these laws need to be revised to cover non-licensed means of transport, even pedestrians. Try traveling on Lamb Blvd (Speed Limit = 45 mph with tandem trailers) on a bicycle sometime if you want a frightening experience.

Unfortunatly it was only a matter of time. I am surprised more people are not injured or killed while riding scooter. They ride without helmets, drive down the middle of a lane in 45mph traffic doing 30mph. I think we need to establish some better traffic laws governing these scooters and thier riders.

I just don't see how scooter can ride on our roadways without a license or insurance. I believe scooters must right in bike lanes and follow all traffic laws governing bicycles.
